Tekken is one of the most popular fighting game franchises available today. The first Tekken was released in 1994 and since then, there has been over a dozen sequels to this iconic series. What’s your favorite?
One thing for sure with any good fighter like Tekken is that it never gets old or boring, as they’re always releasing newer versions every few years! So which iteration of such an epic franchise do you think will be crowned champion among all others?
The Tekken franchise has been a pioneer in 3D combat and immersive story-lines since 1994. From the start, they have never shied away from pushing boundaries with their characters like bear Akuma or boxing kangaroo Roger – but this is nothing new for them! The series always celebrates diversity by introducing us to all sorts of fighters around the globe who do everything from Bollywood dancing to sumo wrestling.
Tekken 3

The introduction of Tekken 3 is considered to be one of the greatest fighting games ever. For many, it remains as being better than any other game in this genre because its graphics are so life-like and realistic that they feel like real people doing battle! The storyline follows Jin Kazama on his quest for revenge against Ogre who killed Jun–his mother. Heihachi Mishima’s plan was to use Jin by drawing out Ogre with a duel between father and son but things don’t go according to plan when he discovers what unfolds right before him…
Tekken 2

Tekken 2 capitalized on the lessons learned from its predecessor to create a more fluid fighting game. Storywise, Tekken 2 sees Heihachi Mishima return as the head of his company and soon-to-be corrupt entity that announces Kazuya Mishima’s new King of Iron Fist Tournament. The classic would introduce iconic characters like Lei Wulong and Jun Kazuma while laying down necessary foundations for future games by introducing Devil Gene into this franchise.”
Tekken 5

Tekken 5 marks the dawning of a new age in the Tekken franchise. Not only did it continue Jin’s story, but its gameplay saw huge updates with new juggle mechanics that have since been integrated into future installments and became mainstay for later games like Tekken 7. New characters were also introduced as well, such as Asuka Kazama who is related to Jins cousin – though she made her own path rather than follow his footsteps entirely.
Tekken Tag Tournament

Tekken’s tag mechanic may be a significant shot in the arm, but it was too much of an undertaking to make way for Tekken Tag Tournament. This game is necessary while fans await their next entry on then-new PlayStation 2 consoles; however, with more stakes than ever before players must now manage health and tactics so that at least one fighter can last long enough to win.
Tekken: Dark Resurrection

Tekken: Dark Resurrection is the latest iteration of Tekken 5 that introduces new ranks, better character balancing and more customization options. The game also brings in brand new fighters like Lili Dragunov and Armor King II to make it an even greater experience!
Tekken 7

Tekken 7 is the newest game in this long-running fighting franchise, and it’s a fitting end to one story line. But according to its producers, that won’t be the last we see of Kazuya Mishima or his father Heihachi – though they refused further details about what could come next for these iconic characters!
Tekken Tag Tournament 2

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 builds on its predecessor’s combat by introducing tag combos. Now, when switching between characters at the end of a combo attack, they can continue to deal damage before completing their switch. Like the first game, Tekken 7 is not considered canon; however certain endings are followed through in this sequel – ensuring hours of gameplay variety with over 40 unique fighters available from start!
Tekken Advance

Tekken Advance is a game for Game Boy Advanced that simplifies the gameplay of Tekken 3D. The GBA’s limited buttons had to be taken into account when changing some aspects, such as kicking and punching now using one button. Luckily this change made stun options become available so gamers can experience more than just moveset combos in combat.
Street Fighter X Tekken

Street Fighter X Tekken’s release was met with both positive and negative reviews. While the game had many exciting features, like including 3D fighting for characters from Street Fighter, it also came as a disappointment because of its lack of post-launch DLC content that can be purchased separately; while not all games offer this type of bonus feature these days, there are still some people who find it to be beneficial.
Tekken 4

Tekken 4 keeps the Mishima family’s feud going with a young Jin Kazama trying to defeat his father and grandfather. The game also introduces some new iconic fighters like Marduk or Steve Fox for players to enjoy.
Tekken 6

Tekken 6 may be the most divisive entry in the mainline franchise. While its gameplay is just as entertaining as previous entries, Tekken’s story mode has characters perform grim or outright uncharacteristic acts. Most infamously, longtime series protagonist Jin Kazama starts a World War and killed millions to awaken a demon that could rid him of his Devil Gene even though this decision seemed out-of-character for an antihero like Jin himself .
Tekken Revolution

Sometimes we all need a break from reality. Fighting is the way for people to release their aggression and frustrations on something that cannot hit back, but what if you could fight someone without ever leaving your couch? Enter Tekken Revolution: an online fighting game where those who play can do so in either single-player or multiplayer mode with others across the world! The best part about it of course is its free price tag – no matter how much time users spend playing this amazing title they will never have to pay anything.
Tekken

The original Tekken expanded the growing 3D fighting game trend in big ways. The original game features Kazuya Mishima as the games main protagonist, setting up early on just how much story will eventually change and how characters can evolve. It also has a whopping 17 playable fighters, many of which are still around today like Lee Chaolan. Combat is top-notch for it’s time and sets up future installments nicely with its foundation that was built here first
Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion

Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion is a major revision released in arcades, offering some new features to get players interested. The biggest appeal of the upgrade are the new fighters such as Lars and Alisa who return from Tekken 6 with their inclusion into this game plus additions like Azazel and NANCY-MI847J that makes for intense boss battles! In conclusion, Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion is an exciting update to one of our favorite fighting games so far.
Tekken 3D

Tekken 3D was a standard fighter that was released for the Nintendo 3DS. The game features all of your favorite fighters from Tekken 6 and even has great framerate and visuals, but because it’s so much more limited than other games in the series (due to being on handhelds), critics gave it mixed reviews. Still though, with collectibles galore you’ll be returning again and again – just don’t expect any new content as there are only two modes: arcade ladder or laggy multiplayer mode!
Death By Degrees

Unlike other games in the series, Tekken’s Nina Williams in Death by Degrees is not a fighting game. Instead, it’s a third-person adventure that sees Nina infiltrating a criminal organization to uncover her father’s murderer and find some closure for herself. The title was continued from the mini-games of Tekken Force which were featured prominently on both 3rd & 4th installments as well. Critically speaking though, this new piece had mixed reviews due to its unorthodox gameplay/control scheme and lack of depth but still managed to become one very memorable classic nonetheless!
Tekken 7: Fated Retribution

The latest Tekken 7 update, Fated Retribution has been made available on home consoles. Along with the new features of a never-before seen character Lidia Sobieska and Noctis from Final Fantasy XV, this edition includes an extensive list of classic guest characters including Geese Howard from The King Of Fighters series!
