Black Lantern: DC's Newest Evil Hero With Unique Abilities

In the new DC Universe, Roy Harper is a Black Lantern with superhuman abilities.

Roy Harper is back in the DC Universe, but his new powers and Black Lantern ring suggest he’s become a different kind of hero. His time as Green Arrow has been spent fighting evil with martial arts skills instead of archery; now he’ll be able to take on foes hand-to-hand again thanks to an unholy alliance between him and death itself!

Roy Harper, the hero that was once known as Green Arrow’s sidekick Speedy, has been revived and shown new powers. He soon finds out everything isn’t what it seems when he stumbles upon a conspiracy in Infinite Frontier.

Though Harper’s power is currently unknown, he has taken on the powers of a Black Lantern. In an effort to find out what his new abilities are and how they came about, we assume that this will be revealed in time!

Roy is still searching for answers about the Black Lantern Ring. He wonders why he’s alive and how it continues to work on him, but realizes his daughter Lian is still alive after seeing her in a memory of Barry Allen being captured by Psycho Pirate.

Roy transforms into a more undead-looking figure one might expect him to look like with the Black Lantern Ring. A voice (assumably Darkseid) calls for him to “come and join me, my new prince.” Harper’s black lantern logo transforms into Darksieds Omega symbol and he immediately flies off through space.

The DC Comics supervillain Darkseid is using the powers of a Black Lantern Ring to channel and manipulate Roy Harper, a one-time sidekick for Green Arrow. What’s more interesting than this technology that has been used by evil since its inception? The fact that it seems as if there may be some connection between him and the Omega symbol Psycho Pirate! Is he assembling an army with heroes from across all dimensions in order to reign supreme on earth or does something else have his attention?

The Quintessence, a council of 5 cosmic entities that govern the boundaries of every universe and reality ever created was murdered by Darkseid in an effort to open up more universes for himself. It seems as though Roy Harper is now much more than just a Black Lantern when something even bigger appears to be going on outside our own realm.
